The subtleties of this vessel are quite wonderful. I have been exploring ways to get a woodfired look in low fire reduction and this was my second attempt. I’d tell you all about it but am writing another book that will explain my latest experiments so you will have to wait for that. I expected a bit more on the surface of this piece and was initially a bit disappointed in the way that you are when you have a picture in mind of how a piece is going to turn out and then it comes out differently.
